2018 NURSING SEMINAR – SYDNEY – 1ST-2ND JUNE 2018
This clinically focused two day seminar is designed to provide Burn Nurses with an opportunity to expand individual knowledge, professional development and ability to provide the best possible care to those affected by burn injury. Those who attend will be able to more critically reflect on current clinical practices.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This two day seminar will be of value to nurses working on a regular basis with those who are affected by a burn injury.
PROGRAM TOPICS INCLUDE:
A range of topics will be presented at the 2 day seminar including panel discussions, rotating discussion groups and case study presentations. We will also be providing the opportunity for participants to present a topic in the Free Paper session. Topics will encompass paediatric and adult burn injuries and include:
- Outpatient burns and co-management. Collaboration with burn and non-burn clinicians
- Donor sites
- Splinting and positioning of minor and major burns
- Dressing fixation – how does your area do it?
- Churchill fellowship
- Tertiary study – different options
Drinks and canapes on Friday from 5pm will be a great opportunity to catch up with local and interstate colleagues, meet new delegates, develop new networks and make new friends. Plus VIVID is on in Sydney during this time – “When Sydney comes to light”.
