The BRANZ has a well-established governance structure that provides oversight and accountability for the operation of the registry. This involves a Steering Committee and a Management Committee. The BRANZ also has a representative on the ANZBA Board by a member elected by the Steering Committee.
The Steering Committee is composed of expert clinicians from both and and paediatric burn services, senior Monash University staff, and two community or consumer representatives; or in lieu, engagement with the Australian and New Zealand Burn Association Consumer Advisory Group (ANZBA CAG) for specific consultation or collaboration when appropriate. The Steering Committee is responsible for overseeing the conduct, development, and output of the registry in line with the Registry's strategic plan.
The Management Committee is composed of senior Monash University staff, and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Registry. The Management Committee works closely with the Steering Committee.
The BRANZ also produces a publicly available report each year. These reports focus on the profile, treatment, and in-hospital outcomes of burn admissions. A complete list of these reports, which can be downloaded for free, can be found here.
