NZ First National Burn Education Grant

The National Burn Service, New Zealand invites interested parties to apply for a First National Education Grant.

Applications will be considered by representatives from the National Burn Centre, Middlemore Foundation and First National Group NZ Limited. Closing date: May 16, 2014

Applications must include a letter of support from their line manager indicating they support the application, and that study leave, additional travel costs and accommodation will need to be approved by the employer.

Applicants must be willing to attend First National events to publicise the grant, and comply with media requests from First National promoting their sponsorship of the scheme. This may include photographs, quotes and attendance at a local functions, newsletter, and social media or media stories. Applicants must agree to have their telephone number released to the media.

Successful applicants will receive confirmation via the Middlemore Foundation (which will reimburse the appropriate fee after evidence of successful completion of the course is presented). The applicant must make and fund their own travel and accommodation arrangements. Please be aware there is a cancellation fee for not attending the course.

Annual Burn Nursing Seminar, May 23 & 24. Registrations now open

On behalf of the  Burns Trust and ANZBA, and proudly supported by Smith & Nephew, we are pleased to invite you to register for the fourth Burns Nursing Seminar which will be held in the beautiful city of Melbourne on May 23rd and 24th.

This two day seminar will be of value to nurses with 2 to  years of clinical experience wanting to further their knowledge, professional development and ability to provide the best possible care to burn patients. Those who attend will be able to more critically reflect on current clinical practices.

Senior clinicians from Paediatric and Adult Burn Services  throughout Australia and New Zealand will present this comprehensive and clinically based program and will provide opportunities for discussion and sharing successes and challenges of burn care. Expect alot of case scenarios, simulations and practical skill sessions

Why not spend the weekend in Melbourne whilst you are here and see why it is regularly nominated as the World Most Liveable City? (Sorry Sydney!) We have football, food, shopping, food, bars, and hidden laneways with even more food! And of course you can stock up on those essential black wardrobe items! We will keep you abreast of whats on in Melbourne that weekend so you can maximise your time there
